Shelterbelts and Eco-Buffers: Agroforestry Systems for Resilience
AWES and CARA are pleased to present ‘Shelterbelts and Eco-buffers: Agroforestry Systems for Resilience’ October 29, 2019 from 3-8 pm in Consort, AB.
This workshop will cover the design and implementation of Shelterbelts and Eco-buffers on Agrocultural land, with a focus on the northern fescue grassland ecoregion. AWES will advise on how to customize your shelterbelt or eco-buffer design to provide pollinator habitat, fruit production, water quality enhancement and more!
Throughout the evening participants will develop the skills to develop tree planting plans. We will walk through tree planting designs using worksheets and other resources provided.
The workshop will wrap up with a field visit of a future shelterbelt planting location for a hands on learning experience.
There is a nominal fee of $30/person.
A catered dinner and refreshments will be provided.
Please come dressed for the weather as we will be venturing to a nearby field site.
