On June 8th from 10am - 2pm, join the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance (NSWA), the Town of Vegreville, and the Agroforestry Woodlot Extension Society (AWES) for a River Revival in Vegreville!
LEARN how native trees and wildflowers improve the riverbank and provide habitat for birds and pollinators. AWES and the NSWA will talk about “Eco-buffer 101”, and “What’s in Your Watershed?”. PLANT an “eco-buffer” of seedlings at our Vegreville demonstration site. (Demonstration provided. Bring gardening gloves and a spade if you have one. Extra spades will be available). CELEBRATE the enhancement of our local river site through family-friendly and kids' activities and refreshments. (Food available for a small cost)

The Agroforestry and Woodlot Society and the North Peace Applied Research Association invite you to our Woodlot Best Management Practices workshop on July 4th, 2019 in Manning, AB. At this workshop private landowners will learn best management practices on forested private lands, how forested lands contribute economically and environmentally, management to maximize ecological and economic value and maintenance & restoration leads to healthier woodlots. We will end with a field visit to a local woodlot!
The Agroforestry Woodlot Extension Society (AWES) in conjunction with Northern Lights County and North Peace Applied Research Association (NPARA) will host this workshop, aimed at helping participants create their own Eco-Buffer or shelterbelt design, site prep and plan and customized management plan. The event will be hosted at the NPARA Research Farm just south of Manning, AB
