The Agroforestry and Woodlot Society and the North Peace Applied Research Association invite you to our Woodlot Best Management Practices workshop on July 4th, 2019 in Manning, AB. At this workshop private landowners will learn best management practices on forested private lands, how forested lands contribute economically and environmentally, management to maximize ecological and economic value and maintenance & restoration leads to healthier woodlots. We will end with a field visit to a local woodlot!

Earthworks for Cold Climate Water Resiliency

Join Takota Coen from Coen Farm and Rob Avis from Verge Permaculture for a 2-day workshop at the Coen Farm and the nearby Ferintosh Hall to learn how to design and implement low tech, low cost, nature-based earthworks that can build more effective and efficient water cycles on your land. The workshop will include a mixture of in-class presentation and activity time at the Hall, and field trips out to the Coen Farm where a 30 ton excavator and D3 Bulldozer will be actively constructing a variety of earthworks.
