It’s that time of year…Spring is coming! As a landowner, have you ever selected a variety of plant species, gone through the laborious task of planting them, watering, weeding and other general maintenance to ensure their survival? However, despite your best efforts, your newly planted seedlings mostly die… So, what exactly happened? It could be a number of contributing factors such as improper plant species selected for the growing region or it could be due to environmental pressures such as competition from other vegetative species or browse pressure from wildlife. On February 19th, 2025, at 7:00PM, tune into the Land Stewardship Center’s live, online workshop “Planting Native Trees and Shrubs,” where our Program Director, Tomas Sokolon, is providing direction on how to pick the right species for your land and some common errors to avoid during the planting period.
You will be able to access this online workshop through the link provided to you upon registration. Please plan to enter 5-10 minutes before the workshop starts, in case you encounter technical difficulties.
