Drought and flood are two sides of the same coin: A broken water cycle is the root cause of both. Join Takota Coen from Coen Farm and Rob Avis from Verge Permaculture for a 2-day workshop at the Coen Farm and the nearby Ferintosh Hall to learn how to design and implement low tech, low cost, nature-based earthworks that can build more effective and efficient water cycles on your land. The workshop will include a mixture of in-class presentation and activity time at the Hall, and field trips out to the Coen Farm where a 30 ton excavator and D3 Bulldozer will be actively constructing a variety of earthworks.

- Principles of water harvesting
- The design and implementation process for a variety of water harvesting earthworks like, dugouts, dam and swales
- Strategic snow harvesting with trees
- Gravity water reticulation
- Flood irrigation
- Aquaculture
- Using Google Earth Pro
- Accessing contour maps
