Eco-Buffers and Shelterbelts are tree-based systems with the potential to do all of these things and more. With the help of Luke Wonneck of the Agroforestry & Woodlot Extension Society (AWES), Red Deer County is hosting a workshop where participants will learn the about the differences between Eco-Buffers and Shelterbelts, the various benefits they can provide, and some basic principles for designing and establishing one that would be suitable for your property.
Available resources and funding opportunities to help with establishing Eco-Buffers and Shelterbelts will also be discussed.
